At Sandra Marie Curtis High School (SMCHS), students learn in person on our campus located close to downtown Fort Lauderdale, near Holiday Park, making it easy to get here by bus or car. If transportation is a challenge, we provide free bus passes to help you get to school every day.

CTE Programs: Every school offers Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to provide you with real-world skills and practical knowledge within your selected career focus. Choose from programs like nail technician, barbering, gaming, and nursing assistant. Program offerings vary by school.
Safe, Supportive Campuses: Everybody knows everybody at NorthStar Academies! With small group instruction, you’ll be known by name and have a voice in your learning environment. Plus, Academic Advisors track student progress toward graduation, including all required state testing. We do all testing in house, including the SAT and ACT.

Flexible Schedules That Fit Your Life
Choose the session that works best for you:
- Morning Session: 7 a.m.–Noon
- Afternoon Session: 12:30–5:30 p.m.
You’ll complete coursework in person, at your own pace, with teachers available for small-group and one-on-one help through the day.
To enroll at SMCHS, you must:
- Be 15–21 years old
- Live in Fort Lauderdale or the surrounding area
- Be able to attend school in person at our campus:

At SMCHS, students never have to figure things out alone. Whether you’re learning to speak English, have a special education plan, or just need someone to talk to, our team is here for you. Plus, we offer SAT, ACT, and CLT testing bootcamps to help you do your best on exams.
